Baguio City, June 1, 2024 — Hundreds of engineering students gathered at the UC Theater, brimming with excitement, as the University of the Cordilleras (UC) hosted its first-ever CE-ENSE Hardhatting and Pinning Ceremony. Themed “Ukjad: Nurturing the Path to Engineering Success,” the event, designed to celebrate the progress and dedication of Civil Engineering (CE) and Environmental and Sanitary Engineering (ENSE) students, marked a significant milestone in their academic journey.

Students walked proudly to the stage, donning hardhats and receiving pins symbolizing their commitment to the engineering profession. The ceremony not only highlighted their academic achievements but also provided reassurance that, despite the struggles and delays many faced along the way, they are moving forward toward their dreams.

Engr. Basilio Munar, the event’s guest speaker, inspired the crowd with words of wisdom. He emphasized the importance of persistence, hard work, and a strong foundation in engineering principles. His speech resonated with the audience, reminding them that the path to success requires not just academic excellence but also resilience in overcoming obstacles.

This inaugural event serves as a new tradition for UC, recognizing the perseverance and hard work of its engineering students as they continue to build their futures, brick by brick, towards a promising career in the field.
