The Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Student Edition (ICpEP.SE) – UC Chapter hosted a Registration, Orientation, and Seminar Expo (R.O.S.E.) 2024 on November 7, 2024 at S213 and November 16, 2024 at the UC Theater. The ICpEP.se UC Chapter, in collaboration with MEXES, proudly launched R.O.S.E. 2024. This event marked a significant milestone in fostering the next generation of engineers, with a particular focus on innovative technologies shaping the future.
Day 1 featured a panel of distinguished industry experts who provided invaluable insights into the realm of blockchain technology. The speakers included: Mr. Brian Matthew Mamaril, Chief Technology Officer of Catch Creative Labs, Mr. Henry James Banayat, Executive Managing Director of BLINC, and Mr. Aldrin Taccayan, Chief Executive Officer of Crypto Warriors.
A special acknowledgment is extended to all the speakers for their expertise and to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement. It is noteworthy that VANA, a prominent blockchain technology company, aligns with the themes explored during this event. The insights shared by our speakers resonate with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. This goal emphasizes the significance of fostering innovation and sustainable industrialization, which are critical in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Day 2 highlights engaging activities that welcomes the freshmen and transferees from Computer Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering Department. An inspiring keynote address was delivered by a CpE Alumna, Engr. Samuel S. Sta. Cruz. His message emphasized the importance of patience and self-belief in pursuing one’s passion, eloquently conveying the message that with unwavering determination, the dreams of future engineers can indeed be realized.
In addition to the thought-provoking keynote, the program featured a series of fun-filled activities, such as interactive bingo games, raffles and intermission dances, that fostered a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere among the attendees.
The day also witnessed the recognition of outstanding students who had excelled in various local and national competitions, showcasing their exceptional skills in areas of research and sports. This celebration of student achievements served to inspire the attendees and reaffirm the institution’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded engineers.
Furthermore, the event provided a platform for the introduction of the student society and the unveiling of their ambitious plans for the 2024-2025 academic year. Participants were captivated by the society’s vision and eagerly looked forward to contributing to its upcoming initiatives.
The successful conclusion of 2 Day R.O.S.E. 2024 is a testament to the unwavering dedication and collaborative efforts of the organizers, faculty, and participating students.
