The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – University of the Cordilleras Student Chapter (PICE-UCSC) recently completed its Membership Registration Drive, held at Gate 3 on October 28-30 and November 4-6. The campaign was a huge success, bringing many Civil Engineering students from all year levels looking to join or renew their membership with the organization.
Throughout the event, PICE-UCSC welcomed 220 new members and processed 140 renewal requests. Each member received a one-year membership, that included an official PVC ID and a certificate acknowledging their affiliation. Lanyards were also available for purchase, adding a touch of PICE-UCSC pride and serving as a keepsake for the students.
Membership in PICE-UCSC is more than just an association; it provides access to significant information and relationships for aspiring civil engineers. Members have access to professional seminars, networking events, and the opportunity to collaborate closely with peers and mentors who can help them achieve their career goals. The organization also offers a platform for active participation through a number of organizing committees, each with a focus on a specific interest or skill set.
Students might join a variety of committees, each of which provided hands-on experience and opportunities to develop skills. The Technical Committee coordinates educational activities, technical workshops, and lectures. The Media Committee promotes PICE-UCSC’s activities on social media and documents events through photography and content creation. For individuals interested in event operations, the Crowd Control and Assistance Committee assures the seamless administration of PICE events by monitoring participant flow and providing on-site support. Finally, the Decoration and Design Committee injects creativity into every event by arranging and designing the visual elements that enhance the experience for attendees.
With a combined membership of new recruits and renewed members, PICE-UCSC currently has a strong community of 360 future engineers ready to make a difference. This surge in membership reflects the opportunities that PICE-UCSC provides to Civil Engineering students.
