UC Engineering Kicks Off the Semester with a Successful General Assembly

The University of the Cordilleras – College of Engineering successfully held its General Assembly on September 9, 2025, gathering all engineering students and faculty members in one eventful session. The assembly served as a platform to share key updates, reinforce important academic and institutional policies, and set a positive tone for a productive school year.

One of the highlights of the event was the warm welcome extended to the College’s new dean, Dr. Rose Ellen N. Macabiog, whose leadership is set to bring fresh insights and stronger direction for the College of Engineering. Students and faculty expressed their excitement and support for this new chapter in the college’s journey.

Throughout the assembly, important academic matters were discussed, including Basic Engineering and Common Examinations, the updated academic calendar, and the use of the Canva platform for coursework and communication. To ensure academic integrity and student growth, policies on student discipline, attendance, laboratory safety, and retention were thoroughly emphasized—upholding the University’s commitment to academic excellence and ethical standards.

In addition, students were introduced to the different engineering student organizations, offering them avenues to build leadership skills, explore passions, and strengthen camaraderie among peers.

Choosing to pursue engineering at UC is more than just a career path—it is a commitment aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Engineers play a vital role in addressing global challenges and responsible innovation. By training under these principles, UC engineering students are empowered not only to excel in their fields but also to contribute to creating solutions that impact society and the world at large.

The UC College of Engineering warmly welcomes its freshmen students, who are now part of a vibrant community dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and service.
